When it comes to Android smartphones, competition is fierce — but for me, Samsung stands out above the rest. From cutting-edge hardware to a feature-rich software experience, Samsung consistently delivers a level of polish and innovation that keeps me coming back. Whether it’s the stunning displays, powerful cameras, or long-term software support, there are several reasons I reach for a Galaxy device over any other Android brand. In this article, I’ll break down the top 5 reasons why Samsung is my go-to choice — and why it just might be yours too.
My Journey with Samsung
My first Samsung device was the Samsung Galaxy J7. Being a tech enthusiast, I wanted to experience all the new software and smartphone brands that slowly came and made their name in the market. I have used almost all brands’ smartphones. Whether its Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme, iQOO, even iPhones. Now recently, when I switched to Samsung after a long time, I noticed that it has come a long way. I bought Samsung Galaxy S24 soon after its launch. I explored it, used it roughly and gently, and even dropped it a few times. But it’s fine to date. My experience with Samsung to date has been great; it is feature-rich and didn’t cause me trouble. Even so, there are a few things that stand out and make me stick to Samsung for the next smartphone as well. Let’s get started with the reasons.
The 5 Reasons
1. Good Lock
The first and foremost reason is Samsung’s Good Lock. By default, in the smartphone, Samsung offers decent customisation options for wallpaper, icons, themes, etc. But Good Lock app takes the customisation to another level. Not only customisations, it even offers great usability features such as for One hand usage it has “One Hand Operation +”, in which you can customise several one handed usage features.
2. Modes and Routines
The Modes and Routines app on Samsung smartphones is pretty underrated. I have setup the modes and routines for several things. Like whenever I enter my office area my phone automatically switches to DND, gets on silent mode and my work app is automatically turned on. Whenever I leave my home, my smartphone automatically switches to battery saver mode. And there are many settings and modes that you can customise and use pre-built.
3. Secure Folder
Secure folder is yet another feature that is underrated on Samsung smartphones. Enabling Secure folder creates a hidden part in your smartphone further locked in the device that will not be shown to anyone. It stays behind the curtains unless you decide to check it out.
4. Artificial Intelligence
Samsung was one of the first smartphone brand that introduced actual useful AI features on their smartphones. Where Samsung processed the data within the device. Not all features uses the on-device AI but yet, starting with a few makes it a big deal.
5. Assistant without Wake word
For those who don’t know Bixby, it’s Samsung’s assistant on smartphones. Similar to the Google assistant that is found on every device. But Bixby has some very useful features. It can do handful of things that even Google assistant have limitations for, like – Changing settings using Bixby. Even you can enable using Bixby without wake word, i.e. when you get a call you can simply say answer call or reject call to answer or reject it. It is helpful when you are away from your phone or your hands are wet and can’t touch your phone.
